Community Organizes Stop the Violence Bike Ride at Wick Park in Youngstown, Ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Youngstown community came together Sunday afternoon for another event aimed at helping reduce gun violence in the city.

A Stop the Violence bike ride took place in Wick Park. This was the first time that local motorcycle clubs had taken part in the event.

On Saturday evening, the community gathered in Glenwood Park, very close to where an 18-year-old woman was recently shot and killed.

First News spoke with the president of a local bike club who explained why he participates and supports the community.

“We walk these streets of Youngstown up and down. People see us and we want them to know that we are with them instead of against them for this community,” said Chris Young, also known as KO – president of Jokers Wrath.

The Youngstown community held two Stop the Violence events this weekend and hopes to see change.
