The boss’s face and Grace’s responses to text messages are blurred. Originally from Bali, Indonesia, Grace splits her time between her home country and Europe, Newsweek reported.

For some unknown reason, she had to return to Bali and was granted permission to work from a different time zone for a week.

However, she did not say that she had planned to leave on Friday, the day she usually worked. She simply said she had a doctor’s appointment and asked to work Thursday.

Her lie was exposed during the airport check-in line when she ran into her boss.

“Long story short, I was waiting in line and then I saw a familiar face come up to me and call my name,” she told Newsweek, adding that her boss travels to Bali often.

Dozens of people commented on the video, saying they would have quit on the spot or were extremely embarrassed.

“I would cry like a baby and hand in my resignation letter,” one person wrote. “I would throw myself out of the plane, no lie,” added another.

One person who also lied about her health before boarding a flight said she was surprised by a phone call.

“My manager called, because I texted him that I was sick. I had to answer the phone at the airport,” they wrote, explaining how they were surprised by the boarding announcements in the background.

Other viewers asked why she didn’t just tell the truth and said she deserved to be caught off guard. One said he would do the same thing as a manager and therefore would not be angry with the employee.

Grace revealed that her boss was “so supportive” and that it wasn’t a problem.

“I was so shocked but we ended up laughing together,” she said, adding that they had chatted as they boarded the plane and that the message he sent her was a joke rather than an accusation.

This could be because they were both considering leaving the company, according to Grace.

“We both ended up quitting,” she said in the comments.
