An Aberdeenshire social worker has been sacked after sexually assaulting two colleagues

An Aberdeenshire social worker has been sacked after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two colleagues.

Vasudev Narula was convicted under the Sexual Offenses (Scotland) Act 2009 at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on 3 June 2024.

Narula was found to have ‘grabbed’ and ‘repeatedly’ kissed two female colleagues during three separate incidents between April 1 and June 10, 2023.

A Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) report into the incidents said the convictions were “fundamentally inconsistent” with remaining on the professional register.

The SSSC found that Narula showed “no insight, remorse or apology” for his behavior.

It concluded that a strike was the most appropriate action “to protect the public and uphold the standards of behavior expected of social workers”.

The removal order took effect on November 7, 2024.
