Many consider StarCraft 2 to be one of them, if not the best, real-time strategy games, but one of the developers who worked on it doesn’t want players to assume it can never be surpassed – so much so that he’s working on a competitor.

Former StarCraft 2 multiplayer leader David Kim is no longer working at Blizzard. Instead, he is senior game director for the all-new RTS game Battle Aces, which is being developed by Uncapped Games. Battle Aces was the first unveiled during Summer Game Fest in Junewhere it was marketed as an “RTS game for everyone” and accessible to newcomers to the genre, but also a lot of fun for all seasoned veterans. This is a point Kim has reiterated recently interview with PC gamer. He notes that around the time Blizzard began developing StarCraft 2’s 2013 Heart of the Swarm expansion, he started thinking about why “we have to keep putting so much pressure on RTS players to do this fundamental, I think, master performance elements before they can you experience the core pleasure?”
