The investigation continues after a teenager was injured in an early morning shooting

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – The investigation into an early morning shooting at a Lawrence park continues as the injured teen is expected to recover.

The Lawrence, Kansas, police says that on Thursday, November 7, around 1 a.m., emergency services were called to the skate park at Edgewood Park, 1728 Maple Ln., for reports of a shooting.

When law enforcement officers arrived, they said they found evidence of a shooting at the intersection of Maple and Brook St., but no victim was found at the scene.

First responders reported they were then called to a nearby hospital, where they found the 17-year-old victim who had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm. He is expected to do well.

Detectives noted they are continuing to gather evidence while the investigation is ongoing. No further information has been released.
