SAPD investigates body found in field on Northeast Side

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Police Department homicide investigators are investigating after a man’s body was found in a field on the Northeast Side.

The body of the man, believed to be in his 30s, was discovered around 6:30 a.m. Thursday in a field near Dreamwood Drive and Wood Climb Drive, not far from several rental properties, according to police.

Homicide investigators handled the case because the body had tire marks on its torso, police said.

The man is said to have been involved in a disturbance involving pepper spray on Wednesday evening.

Police said they knew the man was rolling in the field, but were unsure how the man ran into the tire tracks or how he died.

An official cause and manner of death will come from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police believe the man was a resident of the nearby rental properties and said three residents spoke to police. However, the police say they have no witnesses to the incidents.
