Murder of 26-year-old property dealer in Gorakhpur shocks community

Gorakhpur: A real estate dealer, Nihal Singh, was shot dead in broad daylight while riding his bullet motorcycle near Jaddu Parsia petrol pump in Deoria on Thursday. Three assailants approached him from behind on a bicycle and shot at his head. Nihal collapsed on the spot, after which the attackers fired two more shots before fleeing with their weapons raised. Passersby rushed him to Devraha Baba Autonomous State Medical College, where he was declared brought dead, police said. Barhaj circle officer Aditya Kumar said FIR has been lodged against unidentified persons and teams have been formed to investigate the murder. The murder caused outrage among locals, who began to gather at the scene.
However, officials arrived with additional force to calm the situation. Nihal Singh, 26, a resident of Samogar village in Madanpur, was the only son of his parents. His father, Vishwajeet Singh, works in Kuwait and had built a house in Munshif Colony, Deoria. tnn
