Hunter Biden Attended His Father’s Meetings: ‘He Was in the Room’

The White House has admitted that President Joe Biden’s son Hunter “was in the room” as his father prepared to deliver a prime-time speech responding to the Supreme Court’s opinion on presidential immunity.

Spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre reiterated that this week was a “holiday week” with the Fourth of July and that he spent last weekend with his family at Camp David after his debate against former President Donald Trump. Family members also planned to join him at the White House later this week for the holiday, according to Jean-Pierre.

“Hunter came back with him and accompanied him to that meeting, to that preparation, to that speech preparation, and you know, he ended up spending time with his father and his family that night,” Jean-Pierre told reporters Tuesday. “That’s basically what happened.”

“What I can say is that he came back from Camp David with his father,” she said. “He accompanied him to the speech preparation room. He was in the room.”

Hunter Biden was convicted last month of a federal gun charge in Delaware, before his tax-related case was tried in California in September.

Joe Biden reiterated that he and his son do not discuss his business interests as House Republicans investigate the family for possible conflicts of interest. The president also reiterated his criticism of Trump, his predecessor and 2024 Republican opponent, for appointing his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner as senior White House advisers.

NBC reported Tuesday that Hunter Biden “has been closely advising his father since the family reunited last weekend at Camp David after Thursday’s debate.”

“This person said Hunter Biden had ‘participated’ in a few meetings and phone calls between the president and some of his advisers,” the outlet reported. “Another person familiar with the matter said the reaction from some senior White House officials was, ‘What the hell is going on?’”
