The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for two women who were caught on camera releasing and stealing puppies from a Loranger home in late June.

According to the sheriff’s office, officers were dispatched to the home in the 17000 block of Highway 40 on the evening of June 22. When officers arrived, the homeowner reported that two women had pulled into his driveway in a white vehicle, entered his yard and left with three German shepherd puppies that had been chained in the yard.

The Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office shared surveillance footage of the robbery on its Facebook page Tuesday.

In the video, the women are seen rushing to the back porch of the home to free the puppies, each of which is tied up separately on the porch and in the yard. One woman appears to point directly at the camera before picking up a puppy and running to her car with it in her arms.

The sheriff’s office encouraged anyone with information about the robbery to contact Sergeant Jill Hutcheson at (985) 748-3335 or Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa at 1-800-554-5245.
