The Best Off-Road Vehicles of 2025: Ready for Adventure Right Out of the Box

Factory off-road vehicles just keep getting better. Every year we receive more and more extreme off-road packages that deliver on- and off-road performance that we could only have dreamed of just a few years ago.

Even better, they do it with a factory warranty. There are so many out there that it can be hard to keep track, but don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.

Here are the best factory off-road vehicles of 2025 when you need more than just your average 4×4. We’re so spoiled for choice these days that if it doesn’t have 35-inch factory tires, it’s not even eligible.

The Chevrolet and GMC twins offer impressive capabilities in their base off-road models, the ZR2 and AT4X. This includes DSSV dampers and Multimatic rebound-control dampers, locking front and rear differentials and a 3-inch lift to accompany the 310-hp 2.7L turbo-four.

THE Bison ZR2 And AT4X AEV Notes increase this ability through extras American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). AEV adds its heavy-duty winch-compatible front bumper and a stronger rear bumper, and the trucks come with boron steel skid plates and rocker arm protectors.

There are fender flares to cover the 35 inches off-road tires. You even get a bed-mounted tire carrier to ensure you have access to the spare at all times – and because a 35 won’t fit between the frame rails under the truck.

To replace its massive 702-hp TRX off-road pickup, Ram is trying something it’s never tried before: cutting power.

Regulations have put an end to the supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8, but that doesn’t mean the Ram’s off-road party is over. Enter the Ram 1500 RHO 2025 which takes all the off-road elements of the TRX and replaces them with a 3.0L twin-turbo inline-six.

You get 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque, but you also get a lower price and, hopefully, a lower fuel bill. The new engine is also lighter, which means better balance when it comes time to get it started.

You still get adaptive Bilstein performance dampers, an active transfer case and a five-link rear suspension that offers 14 inches of travel on the rear axle.

If you want an incredibly powerful, supercharged V8 pickup that can jump dunes, you still have one choice. The Ford F-150 Raptor R, with its 720-hp supercharged 5.2L V8. If you don’t want all that power, there’s always a 450-hp twin-turbo 3.5L V6 that has most of the same starting parts but is a bit more tractable.

The Raptor and Raptor R ride on 3.1-inch-diameter Fox Racing shocks, featuring the company’s Dual Live Valve technology for improved control and ride. A long-travel suspension provides 14 inches of travel up front and 15 inches in the rear, or slightly less if you check the box for the 37-inch BFG KO2 tires that Ford offers as standard on the R or as an option on the standard Raptor.

The HD Off-Road vehicles feature Multimatic DSSV shock absorbers, just like the Colorado and Canyon, but are tailored for this heavy-duty application. The HD Off-Road vehicles are based on an HD 2500 truck, but feature new upper and lower control arms and steering knuckles.

The transfer case’s steel skid plate is larger, and there’s an aluminum skid plate up front. HDs also get an e-locker rear differential and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory M/T tires. The trucks are offered with either a 6.6L gas V-8 or a 6.6L Duramax turbodiesel.

THE Ford Bronco Raptor gives the four-door SUV Raptor touches, including a 418-horsepower 3.0L EcoBoost engine and Fox Live Valve 3.1 semi-active shocks with position-sensitive damping.

The Bronco Raptor is also better protected thanks to skid plates underneath. What really sets the Raptor apart from other Bronco models is its wide body. More rugged fenders with absolutely massive flares cover the standard 37-inch BFGoodrich K/O2 all-terrain tires.

Hop into the Bronco Raptor and you’ll get seats with wider bolsters to keep you in place on the trail. There’s also a red stripe on the steering wheel in case you forget where the straight line is in all your off-road maneuvers.

Jeep said the 6.4L Wrangler V8 was dead, but then changed its mind. We welcome the 470-horsepower back for another year.

THE Wrangler 392 will only be equipped with the Final Edition package for 2025. This includes an 8,000-pound Warn winch, heavy-duty skid plates and 35-inch BFGoodrich tires. off-road tires on 17-inch wheels compatible with beadlock systems. All this makes the 392 Final Edition a total of 6.4 inches taller than a standard Wrangler.

It also comes with Fox shocks, a full-time transfer case, and exhaust pipes that make more noise than anything else on this list. Unfortunately, but also reasonably, it’s only offered on the four-door Wrangler, not the slightly more agile and shorter two-door Wrangler.
