‘It Seems So Crazy’: Bad Boys: Ride Or Die Finale Takes Inspiration From Classic James Bond Film, Screenwriter Reveals Original Plans For The Gators

Warning: spoilers for Bad Boys: Ride or Die are in play. So if you haven’t solved Mike and Marcus’ latest case yet, you’ve been warned.

As the Movie 2024 Bad Boys: Ride or Die The film had a great run at the box office, so it’s not hard to see why die-hard fans and newcomers alike are enjoying the sequel to the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence franchise. But even considering myself someone who’s enjoyed Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett’s more recent exploits, there’s one moment I wanted to know more about: the final sequence involving a certain alligator. And when I had the chance to talk to screenwriter Will Beall about his contributions to the story, he explained how his own fandom of the James Bond films inspired the original version of that sequence. Which, in hindsight, makes a lot of sense.

I like to call the central creature of this climatic scene the “Gator ex Machina” but, in keeping with the tradition of Bad Boys’ The latest installment is called Duke. A giant albino alligator who plays judge, jury, and executioner throughout the final fight in the latest action film from directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. On the surface, his sequence is crazy, but as I discovered, there was a great method to the writer’s madness.
