Massachusetts State Fire Marshal Delivers Anti-Fireworks Message – NewBostonPost

Massachusetts is the only state where no form of consumer fireworks is legal – and the state is doubling down on this.

As Bay State residents purchase fireworks from each of the five surrounding states, as well as Maine, State Fire Marshal Jon Davine has a familiar message for state residents: Don’t use fireworks this Independence Day.

“Fireworks are inherently dangerous,” Davine said. The Eagle’s Tribune“Possessing or using fireworks in Massachusetts requires a license and certification. Personal use is illegal here, even if purchased legally in another state. These laws work: Massachusetts’ fireworks injury rate is about one-fifth the national average.”
