Mica Miller’s hubby arrested days after FBI searched his home

Police in South Carolina have been arrested John-Paul “JP” Millerthe pastor husband at the center of the controversy surrounding the disappearance and suicide of his wife Mice Miller for allegedly attacking a protester.

JP Miller, 45, was arrested Wednesday at his Myrtle Beach home for a “possible assault” on a protester at his church, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

The affidavit did not specify what the protest was about, but supporters of Mica Miller have come to his Solid Rock church with signs and posters demanding justice for Mica after her friends and family accused the pastor of playing a role in her suicide in April.

The alleged abuse victim reportedly approached JP Miller on Wednesday and said, “Here, Kitty Kitty.”

Police allege JP Miller “got in the victim’s face” and began recording her before tapping her cap and walking away. Police reportedly stated in the documents that they had reviewed video footage of the protest but did not see the alleged incident.

JP Miller’s attorney, Russell Long, reportedly shared a video of the alleged attack with PEOPLE. The outlet reports that the video shows a woman running toward JP Miller and the person recording shouts, “Pussycat! Pussycat! Run, run, run!”

JP Miller allegedly approached the woman in front of a car and appeared to hold his phone up to her.

“Don’t touch me,” the woman allegedly shouted.

Long told the station that the alleged victim and the VCR were “just provoking him and trying to coerce him.”

Newsweek has contacted the Myrtle Beach Police Department for comment.

Long claims that JP Miller held his camera to the woman but did not assault her.

He says while the pastor held up his camera, he did not attack the victim.

A witness told police that JP Miller struck the victim twice. It remains unclear whether JP Miller touched the victim at all.

JP Miller was arrested at his home later Wednesday evening. He was released on a $776 bond.

“Enough is enough,” Long told PEOPLE of JP Miller’s “scandalous” arrest. “The city of Myrtle Beach has failed this man and his churchgoers, they have allowed these people to kill this church, and they have allowed these people to stalk and harass John-Paul Miller. And arresting him gives them just more bait, right? It gives them more purpose. They won’t stop.”

FBI raid on JP Miller’s home

JP Miller’s arrest comes days after the The FBI has raided his house on November 1.

A FBI spokesman Kevin Wheeler said Newsweek“I can only confirm that our presence there is related to court-authorized law enforcement activities.”

About 25 FBI agents were at the home dressed in “Evidence Response Team” uniforms, News13 reported. They reportedly put on gloves and retrieved bags from a truck as they prepared to enter the home.

Neighbors told the outlet that JP Miller was not home at the time of the raid.

Who was Mica Miller?

Mica Molenaar, 30, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in April and was found at a Lumber River State Park in North Carolina. However, her family previously shared suspicions that JP Miller played a role in her death.

Mica and JP Miller were in the middle of a divorce at the time of her death. Her family claimed Mica Miller kept a diary suggesting she was the victim of unlawful coercive control.

Mica’s sister, Sierra Francis, said in an affidavit that her sister warned family members that “if I get a bullet in my head, it wasn’t because of me, it was because of JP.”

JP Miller’s business moves

JP Miller made headlines last month because it seems like they are taking business action.

On October 17, he filed court papers with the South Carolina Secretary of State for a new religious establishment called Living Water Church in Market Common.

According to the filing, the nonprofit’s purposes are charitable, religious, educational and literary. The business address is listed as JP Miller’s personal residence in Myrtle Beach, SC.

If the new religious corporation is dissolved, the paperwork states that its assets would go to St. Delight Pentecostal Church, founded by the mother of J.P. Miller’s mentor, Chares Randall.

On October 23, JP Miller formally updated the address of his church Solid Rock Ministries to its current location at 803 Howard Avenue in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Since 2006, Solid Rock’s business address was his home address for a house he shared with his first wife, Alison.

JP Miller, who “has a heart for ‘Love God and Love People,'” began pastoring Solid Rock in 2016, according to his biography on the church’s website.
