John Stones the silent giant with fantastic defensive stats as England have just conceded twice so far in Euro 2024 – SOCCERVOICE

England are through to the quarter-finals in the 2024 Euro competition. We have seen too much negativity towards the England players, and no focus on what they have done defensively, believing this group of players are not doing what they are supposed to.

John Stones (30) does have some interesting stats to bring forward as he looks the best defender in the tournament so far, not really getting any credit at all for his fantastic defensive record.

The fact that he is almost impossible to pass with a dribble, coming up against him one against one, talks more, than any word from those not really focusing on anything else than the attacking game, which of course do have its limits so far, but still Harry Kane has two goals in four games, the same tally as Jude Bellingham.

Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier and Marc Guehi have been the trusted back four. John Stones is the leader and of course has great experience, with Walker and Trippier showing their worth as the team manage to jump the hurdles.
