EVEN the cameraman and Gary Lineker were shocked that Cristiano Ronaldo missed a free-kick for Portugal against France.

The Manchester United and Real Madrid legend is a regular set-piece taker for club and country.

But his free-kick record has become miserable of late with just ONE goal from 60 direct attempts in international football.

In the first half of Portugal’s quarter-final against France, Ronaldo’s team was awarded a free kick.

And all eyes were on the Al-Nassr star as he lined up alongside Fernandes and looked set to try his luck again.

Even the cameraman zoomed in on Ronaldo as everyone prepared to see the striker strike.

But suddenly Fernandes fired over the bar as Ronaldo began his run.

Fans were stunned and even Lineker revealed he lost a bet with Rio Ferdinand over who would take the free-kick.
