Coronation Street spoiler video reveals shock for Roy

Coronation Street spoiler video reveals shock for Roy

Develop

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) may now be free in Coronation Street, but his life is not back to normal. Roy spent weeks in prison, accused of the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

He quickly became the police’s prime suspect after it was discovered he was the last person to see the teenager alive and had behaved suspiciously while trying to clean the apartment after she disappeared.

For anyone who knew Roy, the idea that he could be a criminal, let alone a killer, was inconceivable. However, that didn’t stop him from being the target of hate and harassment when internet “sleuths” decided to target him and make his life miserable.

While in prison, he was also targeted by former gang leader Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron), who wanted revenge for the murder of his friend’s daughter, Lauren, and nearly succeeded in killing Roy.

Now that Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) has been arrested for the murder – even though viewers know it’s actually Joel Deering (Calum Lill) who’s the real culprit – Roy is back on Coronation Street, where he belongs. But he’s still carrying the mental scars of his ordeal.

He became withdrawn and refused to leave his flat, even to work at his beloved cafe, something Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) sought to rectify by pretending Shona was ill so Roy would have to cover for her.

This plan meets with some success, and it is not long before Roy feels confident enough to venture out and bring some soup to Shona, who is still pretending to be ill.

Unfortunately, on his way home, he is accosted by a gang of people who insult him, calling him every name he heard while he was suspected of killing Lauren. Roy tries to run away but trips and soon finds himself on the ground, surrounded by the angry mob.

Luckily, help is at hand, and Carla Connor (Alison King) arrives and quickly figures out what’s going on. She rushes to Roy’s side and the thugs disappear. Carla realizes with shock that her dear friend is suffering and helps him back to the cafe.

Roy is furious when Shona tells him she was never ill, as he realises he has put himself in danger for no good reason. He fires her and is also angry with Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) for being complicit in the scheme.

After they leave, Roy’s health suddenly deteriorates and soon an ambulance arrives at the cafe – and the paramedics begin performing CPR on poor Roy.

Luckily, Roy is sent to the hospital and wakes up but as we can see in this new video, he is not out of the woods.

As Nina realizes that her uncle is starting to get over it, she is surprised when he says hello to Lauren twice. Nina reminds him who she is, but Roy seems convinced that he is talking to Lauren.

But what’s going on here?

Is it Roy’s confusion or is something else going on?
