Remember the steamy chemistry between Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat in the 2004 erotic thriller ‘Murder’? While their on-screen relationship set the screen on fire, their off-screen relationship remained a mystery surrounded by breakup rumours. It’s the story of a short-lived collaboration that wreaked havoc on-screen and ended in a much-talked-about feud.

Naturally, their fans were overjoyed when the couple was spotted kissing and chatting at an event in Mumbai in April this year, marking the end of their 20-year feud. Speaking to News18, Emraan recalled the viral moment as “very warm and cordial”. He said that they met after a long time and added, “I don’t think we’ve had a meeting like this in a long time. I’ve had it a few times after Murder came out.”

He then spoke about their past disagreement, attributing it to the impulsiveness of youth. He said, “We were young and stupid at that time. You go through a phase in your life where your decision-making power is so limited that you are so impulsive. Some mean things were said by her and some by me. But all that is in the past.” Emraan also expressed his desire to collaborate with Mallika on screen soon and said, “We have put all that aside. It was a long time ago. It was very nice to see her and meet her. She was very warm and so was I. She is one co-actor I wish I could work with again.”

A few months after the release of ‘Murder’, Emraan and Mahesh Bhatt appeared on Koffee With Karan. When asked who was the ‘worst kisser’ among his co-stars, Emraan playfully named Mallika. Also, when asked to mention something that one might find in his room, he quipped, ‘An Idiot’s Guide to Making It in Hollywood’. Mallika then responded, humorously suggesting that the snake she kissed in Hisss was a better kisser than Emraan.

On the work front, the Tiger 3 actor is eagerly awaiting the release of the second installment of his Hotstar series, the episodes of which will air on Showtime from July 12.
