Lil Wayne Shocked By Hot Boys Reunion News; Rapper Has No Idea About Juvenile’s Announcement: “Damn, You Just…”

Lil Wayne’s surprise at the Hot Boys’ reunion album mirrors the same shock fans felt when Juvenile first revealed the news. For the uninitiated, Cash Money artists Wayne, Juvenile, Turk and BG were all part of the hip-hop group in question, which formed in Louisiana in 1997.

On July 27, Lil Wayne appeared as a guest on NFL defensive lineman Cam Hayward’s Not Just Football With Cam Hayward podcast, where he was asked about Juvie’s recently confirmed Hot Boys reunion album.

Lil Wayne Apparently Wasn’t Kept In The Loop By Juvenile About The Hot Boys’ Reunion Album

“Damn, you just told me. When are they coming?” Wayne asked Cam Hayward, according to XXL Magazine. “When are these boys coming? I gotta go check it out. I’d love to see that,” Wayne added.

The Lollipop singer then confirmed that he hasn’t recorded any verses for the project yet, but is willing to do so if he’s invited into the kitchen. He said he has no problem getting cozy in the studio with his old friends and producing some beats, but it all depends on whether he ever learns of the work that’s supposedly already underway. “They haven’t told me anything yet,” Wayne reiterated.

As for an update on his upcoming album The Carter VI, Wayne said it is nearly finished and he is now in the process of editing the many songs on the record.

Juvenile confirmed Hot Boys album in May

During an Instagram Live earlier this year, Juvenile, one of the former members of the group in question, confirmed that a new Hot Boys album was in the works when a commenter asked Juvie to reunite with the group. Accusing the person of not following the group’s supposed activities, the Ghetto Children rapper said that he, Wayne, BG, and Turk had “already finished working on a Hot Boys album.”

Juvenile then chased the commentator away, asking him to be a little patient.

Well, no one really knows what’s going on in the hip-hop world, right? The tides are changing by the second. It’s hard to keep up, but we’ll do our best to confirm or deny the Hot Boys reunion rumors soon. Stay tuned!
