NetEase Delays Where Winds Meet PC Release, Morgan Stanley Says

NetEase announced today that it is delaying the release of Where Winds Meet PC to 2024 instead of July, according to Morgan Stanley. The company believes the delay is due to unsatisfactory player feedback following PC testing that ended on June 22, involving an imbalance in graphics and combat mechanics. However, Morgan Stanley does not see the delay as a major drawback, saying that the consensus has not raised much expectations for the game due to its PC-only release and free-to-play monetization setup. Additionally, the PC version’s release being delayed alongside its mobile version is expected to create a greater impact on user engagement and gross revenue, the firm adds. The analyst maintains an Equal Weight rating on NetEase with a $100 price target.
