Mason Mount fires Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, sends clear message with emotional statement on Chelsea

Mason Mount has written an emotional statement on social media following Neil Bath’s departure from Chelsea. The Manchester United midfielder worked closely with the 58-year-old at Cobham training ground before leaving Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford.

After more than 30 years at the club, Bath has decided to step down from his role as director of football development and operations, having helped transform the Blues’ youth academy into the most successful academy in English football.

During Bath’s time in west London, Mount was one of several players to make his first-team debut for Chelsea – and, better yet, become a regular in the starting XI. However, the Red Devils ace paid tribute to the former Blues boss on his Instagram story.

He wrote: “Neil, thank you for your incredible leadership and dedication during my time at the academy. It is through your commitment to nurturing talent that the academy has had such a profound influence and shape in its achievements. I wish you all the best for the future.”

In an official statement on the club’s website earlier this week, Bath thanked all the players, parents, colleagues and supporters for his time at Chelsea. He said: “After 30 years working at Chelsea, I feel it is the right time for me to take some time off and have a break from a job I have invested so much time in.

“I intend to rest and step away from the game for a while, but will continue to work over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition for the organisation. As an Academy, we have enjoyed fantastic support from the Club throughout my time here, without which none of our success would have been possible.
