Emma Raducanu and David Beckham’s son caught in new love storm as new photo emerges

Tennis sensation Emma Raducanu will return to Centre Court at Wimbledon this afternoon, where she will face Maria Sakkari in the third round of the women’s singles. Currently ranked 135th in the world, Raducanu is making a strong comeback after an injury-plagued year.

Her performance so far in the competition has been impressive, as she overcame Elise Mertens in the second round on Wednesday. However, she is yet to progress beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon, with ninth seed Sakkari now standing between her and her progress.

Raducanu shot to fame overnight as a teenager in 2021 when she stunned the tennis world by qualifying for the US Open and winning the Grand Slam title, putting her name in the record books. Since then, she has become one of the most talked-about athletes in the UK and beyond, with her life off the court often attracting as much attention as her many on-court achievements, Wales Online reports.

Her love life has also been making headlines lately, with rumours swirling about a possible romance with the son of a football legend. Here’s everything you need to know.

Rumor of love with a footballer

Speculation began to mount when the son of a sporting icon was spotted watching Raducanu in action at Wimbledon earlier this week. As Raducanu beat Mertens in three sets in the second round, Romeo Beckham – the second eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham – was spotted in the stands alongside a few friends and former Germany midfielder Sami Khedira.

The 21-year-old Brentford footballer, who is a tennis enthusiast and coached by Andy Murray during a five-year break from football, is a keen fan of Raducanu. The Beckhams are also supportive of Raducanu, with former England captain and Manchester United icon David having been spotted in the Royal Box at Centre Court with his mother Sandra days earlier for her opening match.

Beckham Jr’s presence at his matches sparked online speculation about their relationship. Romeo shared a photo of Raducanu in action on Instagram along with two heart emojis. When asked about his presence, the tennis star quickly changed the subject.

“I mean, I think he’s really cool,” she said. “His dad is, you know, someone that I think all athletes look up to, especially all British athletes, you know what he’s been through with the media, with his career, with the pressure moments.”

“I had David (Beckham) with me in the first round. He was there from the start. On the first point, even when the crowd was almost empty. So I have the utmost respect for him and I think he is just incredible for British sport in general.”

Romeo has been dating model Mia Regan on and off since 2019, and most recently split in February 2024. It is unclear if they have gotten back together.

Raducanu recently split from Carlo Agostinelli, the son of billionaire Robert Agostinelli. Her former boyfriend is an aspiring footballer who briefly played for Tottenham Hotspur before moving to the United States to play at Stanford University.

The couple reportedly began their relationship in May 2023 and have been spotted on several trips together, including to Mexico for Dior’s Cruise 2024 show. They also made an appearance at Paris Fashion Week, walking arm-in-arm and sharing smiles, confirming their romance.

However, it appears they have now split, with Raducanu unfollowing Agostinelli on social media just weeks before Wimbledon.

“Boyfriend ban.”

Although her personal life has been scrutinised since her rise to fame, Raducanu has revealed that her parents banned her from having “boyfriends” when she was younger to ensure she stayed focused on her training.

“My parents were very against ‘boyfriends’ because it interfered with training,” she told the Times. “When I was younger, I wasn’t even allowed to go out with my friends.” Although she initially resented her parents for the rule, she said it ultimately proved beneficial, boosting her confidence and assertiveness.

“I was often very resentful,” she added. “But it gave me confidence and made me feel comfortable in my own company, which is also a great strength.”
