Shooting on Furnace Branch Rd and Margate Dr in Glen Burnie; The police speak of possible road rage

A man was killed after a roadside shooting in Glen Burnie on Thursday evening, officials said.

Police say officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of ​​Furnace Branch Road and Margate Drive in Glen Burnie on November 7 around 8:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers said they found an adult male victim, approximately 51 years old, on the ground and an adult male suspect, approximately 23 years old, on the scene.

Firefighters responded and despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to officials, a preliminary investigation indicates the shooting resulted from a traffic collision on Route 10.

Police say the suspect and victim came to a stop at Furnace Branch Road and Margate Drive.

Officials say it appears the victim came at the suspect with a hammer, but police say they are still working out the details.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Anne Arundel County Criminal Investigation Division for questioning, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
