Tatanagar: Ispat, Jan Shatabdi Express, including nine trains cancelled due to line blockage

Jamshedpur, July 6: The South Eastern Railway zone has announced cancellation of several trains due to repair works and planned line blockages. This has affected many passengers travelling to various districts of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha.

Trains and routes affected:

  1. Santragachi-Andul line block:Scheduled for Saturday, this block will disrupt services on the Howrah-Barbil Jan Shatabdi Express, Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express and Jagdalpur-Howrah Sambaleshwari Koraput Express in both directions.
  2. Repair of the bridge over the Kharkai River:The repair work between Tatanagar and Adityapur on Saturday will lead to cancellation of trains from Tatanagar to Hatia, Barkakana, Purulia and Guwa. Also, the Dhanbad-Tatanagar Swarnarekha Express train and the Asansol-Tatanagar MEMU train will not run up to Tatanagar.
  3. Adra dividing line block:
    • MEMU Dhanbad-Jhargram train via Tatanagar is cancelled on Monday, July 7.
    • MEMU Jhargram-Purulia train will be cancelled in both directions on July 8, 15 and 16.
    • The Purushottam Express from Puri and Delhi will be diverted via Purulia to Bhojudih and will not serve Bokaro.

The decision to cancel and reroute trains is expected to cause significant inconvenience to hundreds of passengers in the affected areas. Railway authorities have urged passengers to stay abreast of updates and make necessary arrangements in light of the disruption.
