Liam Payne death update: 3 arrested, close friend Rogelio Nores accused of ‘abandoning’ 1D star

Death of Liam Payne: Three people – a friend of Liam Payne, a hotel worker and an alleged drug dealer – have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of the late One Direction star. Authorities have not named the “friend” whom they accuse of “abandonment of a person followed by death” in connection with the singer’s death, according to reports.

However, the ‘friend’ in question denied the allegations after the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office made the latest announcements in connection with the death of the One Direction fame.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, authorities’ description identifies the “friend” as Rogelio “Roger” Nores, who Liam in the days before he died. He is also accused of being an accomplice in drug trafficking, a crime punishable by up to 15 years in prison under Argentine law.

In an emotional statement to the British media outlet, Nores claimed: “I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened.” He also pointed out that at the time he parted ways with Liam, the pop star wasn’t alone. “There were more than 15 people in the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left,” he added.
