Himani Shivpuri says she was caught off guard when her Hum Aapke Hain Koun co-star Salman Khan abruptly lifted her in a scene: ‘Salman was such a brat’ | Bollywood News

Himani Shivpuri and Salman Khan shared the screen for the first time in Sooraj Barjatya’s iconic film Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994). In a recent interaction, the veteran actress recalled her experience of shooting with the superstar and how he took her by surprise by abruptly lifting her in a scene. She also recalled Salman offering biryani to the cast and crew on the sets.

Talking about her experience of shooting with Salman, Himani told Bollywood Hungama, “The first time I met Salman, I remember Sooraj Barjatya explained the scene to us and he said okay. Suddenly, during the shoot, Salman says, ‘Chachi jaan’ and he lifts me up. Since I had a background in acting, I reacted and slapped him and all that and even Sooraj ji was surprised but he said, ‘This is nice. We will keep it.’ So the next time Salman suddenly lifted me up in another scene, I was prepared.”

Hum Aapke Hain Koun was backed by Sooraj Barjatya’s production house Rajshri Productions, and they served only vegetarian food on the sets. However, Salman made sure to bring biryani from home to treat the cast and crew. Recalling this, Himani said, “Salman was such a kid. It was wonderful to work with him. He would also bring food from home – biryani and everything. On the sets of Hum Aapke Hai Koun, they served only vegetarian food. So, he would bring biryani for Eid and we would all eat it. He was also a big prankster.”

Apart from Hum Aapke Hai Koun, Himani Shivapuri and Salman Khan have starred in many hits like Hum Saath – Saath Hain, Biwi No 1, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Khamoshi: The Musical and many more.
