Fire damages house under construction in southwest city

SAN ANTONIO – A house under construction in the southwest of the city caught fire during the night.

San Antonio firefighters responded to the home in the 5900 block of Kim Valley Drive, near Five Palms Drive and Old Pearsall Road, around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

According to firefighters, the flames were going through the roof. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

There was no one home at the time of the incident and the cause of the incident is under investigation. No injuries have been reported.

The SAFD said it was unclear whether construction was the cause of the fire.

The house suffered moderate damage.
