Joanna Gaines Shares Never-Before-Heard Pieces From ‘The Lakehouse’

Chip and Joanna Gaines recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of To fixand the couple celebrated in the most fitting way: by renovating a lake house! Their project was chronicled in a new HGTV series (you can stream all six episodes on Max), but, Joanna explains, not everything made it into the TV show.

The Magnolia founder took to Instagram to share some never-before-seen spaces inside the 5,100-square-foot, five-bedroom, five-bathroom lakefront home, which was built in 1965. First up: the bathrooms.

Joanna said: “I wanted to show you some of these other rooms that you might not see at the end of this reveal, just because there are so many rooms in the house… All the bathrooms – we wanted to do something really fun to give them their own little vibe.”

The bathrooms are filled with fun design touches, including mosaic tiles with colorful grout, floating vanities, and funky light fixtures. She said, “This is just a little peek behind the scenes of some of the bedrooms and bathrooms that you might not see in the end, because I know it’s always a big question: What about the other rooms in the house?”

Fans loved the extra peek into the home, leaving notes like, “YES!! Thank you for this. Loved it!! 👏” and “Those bathrooms are gorgeous 💚💚💚.”

In another post, she gave a tour of the upstairs landing, which she calls one of her favorite parts of the house. The stairs lead to a landing with custom screens, Lake Waco artwork, and a sitting area. “I love this little landing. I think it’s really neat.”

Fans loved seeing these extra spaces of the lake house. Now, we just hope to see more of Chip and Joanna on our TV screens soon!
