CLEVELAND (WJW) — The Fox 8 I-TEAM has learned that a 21-year-old man has died after being shot in the parking lot of the Steelyard Commons shopping center.

The incident happened around 4:15 a.m. Sunday morning at 3300 Steelyard Drive. Police confirmed a 21-year-old man was taken to hospital and died a short time later.

Police said initial reports indicate the incident occurred during a planned encounter between two cars, which police radio reports said included “hundreds of cars” in the parking lot.

The Cleveland Police Department’s homicide unit is investigating the incident and said no further information is available for release at this time.
