Morgan Wallen’s Son Indigo Taken To Emergency Room For Stitches After Ex-Girlfriend’s Dog Bites His Face

Morgan Wallen’s Son Indigo Taken To Emergency Room For Stitches After Ex-Girlfriend’s Dog Bites His Face

Morgan Wallen’s 2-year-old son Indigo Wilder is recovering after a scary incident with a dog.

The “Whiskey Glasses” singer’s ex-girlfriend and Indigo’s mother, KT Smith, took to her Instagram Story on Monday to tearfully share that her beloved dog “bit Indigo in the face” while she was looking for a new home for the pet.

“We spent yesterday morning in the emergency room and have been looking at options ever since,” Smith said, insisting the dog “does not deserve” to be euthanized.

“Indigo is doing well. His scar will be minimal,” she said of her child, who turns three in July. “He’s had stitches, but he’ll be fine.”

Smith, an influencer, adopted her Great Pyrenees dog named Legend from a shelter in April 2022 and said they “saved each other.” After the attack, she admitted she couldn’t bring herself to euthanize the dog or keep him muzzled at home.

“I can’t be a mother who has a dog in the house when my child is so traumatized, probably, because of it,” she said. “I can’t be a good mother to her dog, putting a muzzle on him, or a good mother in general, when a child is really scared of him in the house.”

Smith made the emotional appeal after an “extremely difficult” and “tear-filled” few days.

“What the world tells you to do is euthanize the dog because he’s aggressive,” she said. “I hesitated to do it and I knew in my heart he didn’t deserve it because he’s wonderful and could adapt very well to a family that doesn’t have young children.”

Smith sought to find Legend a loving home with a yard and no small children who might “dirty his food or crawl on him.”

“He’s an angel and I feel like he can read human emotions,” she said of the dog, “and he just wants love and to be petted.”

While she was ultimately successful in her search, sharing that she dropped Legend off “with the kindest family where he will live his full potential and best life on a farm” in East Tennessee, she also hit back at some of the “hate messages” she said she received from her followers.

“Being a mom is about caring for your child first and finding a home for the dog away from your child before they come home,” she replied. “Being a dog mom is about finding the best home possible for the dog, knowing that they can thrive in an environment that is meant for them without children. We all get triggered by different things in life, and with dogs it’s the same as with humans. We eliminate those triggers and we overcome them. It’s the same with dogs.”

Wallen has not spoken publicly about the situation. ET has reached out to his rep for comment.

Smith and Wallen, both 30, first met in 2017. They welcomed Indigo, nicknamed Indie, in July 2020 after previously ending their relationship. “I will be the dad you deserve and the co-parent your mom deserves,” Wallen wrote on Instagram alongside the announcement of Indigo’s birth.

In an interview with ET earlier this year, Wallen opened up about how becoming a father has changed him.

“I didn’t have a plan, I just kind of floated until I got to that point — that’s what it felt like — but when he was born, it put a whole new focus and perspective on my mind,” Wallen said. “I had bigger things to do every day, I just knew how much he was going to understand me, how much he was going to see me. I know how important I’m going to be to him and I know how important my dad was to me, so I just try to be that for him.”
