MasterChef fans shocked by surprise elimination

MasterChef fans shocked by surprise elimination

Well, we’ve come down to the top four candidates in MasterChef AustraliaAll thanks to a surprise elimination on Sunday night. But not everyone is happy about who went home and who is still in the competition.

In a dramatic surprise elimination, the remaining contestants — Savindri Perera, Mimi Wong, Josh “Pezza” PerryAnd Harry Butterfield —we were presented with five ingredients that had incredibly strong flavor profiles.

There was incredibly hot Époisses cheese, spicy Carolina Reaper pepper, super sweet monk fruit concentrate, sour umeboshi plum and bitter gourd. Competitors had to use at least one of these ingredients to create something delicious.

Not easy, huh? I bet the last winner of the challenge Nat Thaipun I was delighted that I was able to hold on and still manage to reach the top four.

Pezza even tasted the Carolina Reaper before the challenge!!! I don’t know if that’s brave or incredibly stupid before a challenge where you have to taste? (Image: MasterChef)

In this challenge, the contestants really proved how talented they are.

Harry made Époisses gnocchi with basil and hazelnut peso and figs, inspired by his Nonna and his dog (whose name is Gnocchi!!!!!)

Mimi created a soft-shell crab donut with green apple and bitter gourd kimchi with yuzu mayo. She originally wanted mini burgers, but her bun wasn’t working for her, so she changed tactics like a pro.

Savindri cooked Carolina Reaper shrimp with tomatoes and Carolina Reaper consommé. And Pezza prepared a filet mignon steak, with an epoisse cheese sauce and mashed potatoes.

Sure, all the dishes were clever and creative, but in the end, Mimi and Pezza ended up in the bottom two. Unfortunately, it was Mimi who was sent home after the judges felt her dish wouldn’t have been successful without the homemade brioche bread she had originally planned to make.

However, the irony of the judges’ decisions was not lost on fans of the show. Throughout the season, Pezza was criticized for consistently managing to prepare very simple dishes, while other contestants went home for preparing dishes that seemed more complex.

This time around, fans noticed that Mimi was criticized for not making her own bread, while Pezza used store-bought bread to finish his dish. This fact did not thrill viewers.

“Pezza needs to go,” wrote one Redditor.

“This dish was extremely basic and they eliminated Alex for a ‘basic’ dish that was more complicated than that. He didn’t even make his own bread.”

“They better call him out for not baking his own bread, why are those little corners there?!” another commented.

“A mediocre white man wins again. The producers really want a real Australian winner, don’t they? I’m not buying it!” wrote another.

Another Redditor, who claimed to work on the show, claimed that the shocked vibrations also continued behind the scenes during filming.

“I worked on MasterChef. Yes, it’s a throwaway account, so my bosses can’t find me,” they said.

“No, I’m not going to spoil it for you. But damn, you should have seen the group chat when it happened in real time. We were CRAZY.”

But according to Mimi, her elimination against Pezza made sense.

“My dish failed to meet the challenge of taming the beast,” Mimi told PEDESTRIAN.TV.

“And to be fair, you know, Pezza’s dish had a lot of elements going for it and he did really well.

“I think it was well deserved. I think I had my chance in the competition. And even though I wanted to fight until the end, it’s not about the skill of the cook. It’s about what you do on the day and that’s precisely the result of the competition.

“You know, I’m a big Pez fan. I have tasted his cooking, he is a wonderful man who cooks wonderful dishes, so I am very happy for him.

So now that Mimi has been sent home, that leaves Harry, Savindri, Nat, and Pezza as the top four for finals week.

Who will win? Only time will tell!!!
