John Cena Announces WWE Retirement in Emotional Speech

Iconic WWE superstar John Cena has announced his retirement at the age of 47. Cena, who entertained fans for years with his catchphrase “You can’t see me,” announced the news at the Money in the Bank Pay Per View event in Toronto. Fighting back tears, he told the crowd that next year’s WrestleMania would mark his final in-ring appearance.

Cena’s announcement was met with mixed emotions from the crowd. “Why now? Because this is Money in the Bank, the ultimate symbol of opportunity,” he said, visibly moved. “This farewell doesn’t end tonight. It’s filled with opportunity. I’m here tonight to announce that in Las Vegas, WrestleMania 2025 will be the last WrestleMania I’ll ever attend.” He concluded with a heartfelt “thank you,” earning chants of “Thank you, Cena” from the Canadian crowd.

The announcement of his retirement didn’t come out of the blue. Cena had already hinted at his impending departure during an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, saying, “50 is my absolute limit… I’d like to try to do it (retire) before then.” Cena has expressed his desire to explore other avenues in life, including being a great husband and partner.

Cena’s departure marks the end of an era, but his impact in and out of the ring will be remembered for years to come.
