Bayern Munich announce signing of winger Olise from Crystal Palace

Bayern Munich have signed winger Michael Olise on a five-year contract from Crystal Palace, the Bundesliga club announced on Sunday.

According to German media reports, Bayern would pay 60 million euros ($64.15 million), including add-ons, to bring the 22-year-old from London to the Allianz Arena.

Olise scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 19 appearances last season despite a campaign plagued by injuries.

“I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring we win as many titles as possible with our team in the years to come,” Olise said.

He was reportedly coveted by several clubs, including Chelsea and Newcastle United, before finally choosing Vincent Kompany’s team.

Although born in England, Olise has made seven appearances for the France Espoirs team, thanks to his Franco-Algerian mother. He has been selected for the French squad for the Paris Olympics, which begin in July.
