In an unusual Facebook ad, a Sydney homeowner has rented out an enclosed balcony with a bed for the astonishing price of $969 (Rs 81,003) per month.

This listing on Facebook Marketplace describes the balcony, located in Haymarket in Sydney’s inner suburbs, as a “sun room” that can accommodate one person.

The balcony footage, which has gone viral on various social media platforms, shows a space furnished with a single bed, a mirror, blinds and a rug on a tiled floor.

The enclosed balcony is accessed through sliding glass doors which connect it to the main property.

Reflections in a full-length mirror reveal that one of the adjacent walls is also glass, reinforcing the room’s feeling of space and airiness.

The landlord advertised the room as ready for immediate occupancy, with the weekly rent including utility bills.

This particular rental offering is attached to a larger two-bedroom apartment, which is also available to rent separately at $1,300 per week, excluding bills.
