Tyler Childers has announced an Australian leg of its Mule Pull world tour, with six headlining shows and a festival scheduled for next February.

The journey will kick off in Brisbane (Meanjin) on Thursday 6 February, when Childers and his band, The Food Stamps, take over the Sandstone Point Hotel. They will head to the Green Room in Byron Bay (Arakwal) the following night (9 February), before heading south for a show at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney (Eora) on Wednesday 12 February.

After his headlining set at the opening Howlin’ Country festival in Newcastle (Awakabal) – scheduled for Foreshore Park on Saturday 15 February – Childers will finish this weekend with a more intimate show in Canberra (Ngambri), at the Royal Theatre on Sunday 16 February.

From there, Childers will play the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne (Naarm) on Thursday 20 February, then finish the tour with a special show at the Coal Creek Community Park & ​​Museum in Korumburra on Saturday 22 February.

Tickets for Childers’ six headline shows will go on sale at 10am local time this Friday (July 12), following two pre-sales: one for Mastercard customers starting at 1pm tomorrow (July 9), followed by another for Live Nation and Love Police members starting at 2pm this Thursday (July 11) – head here for more information on all ticket sales.

$1 from every ticket sold will go to BlazeAida charity that works to provide “practical support to secure livestock and rebuild fences immediately following natural disasters in regional and rural Australian communities”.

In a press release, Love Police Brian Taranto On Childers’ return to Australia (after his last tour in March 2019), “It’s an exciting time for fans of big, good music with Tyler and his band finally coming to town. Since his last visit, Tyler has become a superstar around the world. A trailblazer, an inspiration to many and a provider of great live shows. I can’t wait for everyone to feel it this February.”

The tour is in support of Childers’ sixth studio album, Rust in the rainarrived last September. He has also released two other albums since his last visit to Australia: A long history of violence in 2020, and Can I take my dogs to heaven? in 2022.
