Staff provides Biden with instructions ‘on how to enter and exit a room’ in large print and with photos before events: report

According to a report, President Biden’s aides provide him with instructions accompanied by large print and photos of the interiors of venues and his planned entry route ahead of events the 81-year-old commander in chief attends.

Documents obtained by Axios on Sunday show how staffers help guide Biden — including his specific path to a podium — when he runs for office. The report comes as the Democrat faces relentless questions about his fitness for the Oval Office after a dismal performance in last month’s debate against his presumptive GOP opponent, former President Donald Trump.

“I was surprised that a seasoned political professional like the president needed detailed verbal and visual instructions on how to enter and exit a room,” one person who has attended a Biden event in the past 18 months told the outlet.

“I had a simple fundraiser at a private residence, but they treated it like it was a NATO summit with his travel,” the unidentified employee also said.

The White House is sending event staffers a template to follow to prepare their own guidelines for the president as part of what’s called “prep work,” according to Axios.

One template apparently shows a large photo of the event space on each page with large text such as “View from the podium” and “View from the audience.” Two pages also provided separate photos with the caption “Walk to the podium” accompanying the images.

But a White House spokesperson downplayed those instructions, telling Axios that “high levels of detail and precision are essential to presidential prep work — no matter who the president is — and they are core approaches used by any modern prep team, including the vice president’s office and agencies.”

A spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris confirmed the Biden official’s claim in a statement to the outlet.

“These documents are standard logistical briefing documents and photos for any director, including the vice president,” the Veep spokesperson said.

The revelation comes the same day that several senior House Democrats called on Biden to end his reelection bid in a private call with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, according to multiple reports.

While a handful of House Democrats have expressed concerns about Biden’s future at the top of the ticket, the octogenarian has remained firm that he has no intention of dropping out of the race.
