Dan Wootton’s two-word response after Princess Kate’s surprise appearance | Celebrity News | Showbiz and TV

Dan Wootton shared his thoughts as the Princess of Wales officially returned to royal duties alongside Prince William. In his first public appearance since finishing chemotherapy treatment, the former GB News presenter expressed his delight that the future Queen had “appropriately chosen Southport” to appear.

Writing in X, the broadcaster, 41, praised Princess Kate as royal fans reacted to his kind words; Dan tweeted: “How special.

“Catherine, Princess of Wales, has returned to work, making her first visit to the community since completing cancer treatment.”

“Appropriately, she chose Southport, the scene of the massacre that claimed the lives of three girls at a Taylor Swift dance class,” he concluded.

Royal fans flocked to comment on the post as one of her 589,000 followers wrote: “Lovely, compassionate and worthy. Your care and empathy shine through.”

A second said: “She strikes me as someone with a genuine heart and consideration for others. I believe she will be equally horrified by what happened, and not just there for the cameras.”

A third said: “She truly is a national treasure,” while a fourth weighed in: “Class act.”

Royal sources say she decided to join Prince William to show her “support, empathy and compassion for the local community” of Merseyside.

The royal couple held a private meeting with the families of the three girls killed over the summer – Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine. The three girls were stabbed to death during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on July 29 in the northwestern coastal city.

Although the Princess of Wales was not officially scheduled to visit Southport on Thursday (October 10), she felt well enough to attend the engagement with her husband to show her support and compassion for members of the local community.

The royal couple also joined the emergency team, with William calling them “heroes”.

On social media platform X, following the visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales issued a moving message to the community. It said: “We continue to support everyone in Southport. Meeting the community today was a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting each other in the wake of an unimaginable tragedy.

“You will remain in our thoughts and prayers. W&C.”
