Kesha responds to body criticism with defiant message – Music News

Kesha has no time for people who criticize her body.

The TikTok singer posted a series of bikini snaps on Instagram on Sunday and silenced those who tried to shame her for her appearance.

“I didn’t think in 2024 people would still be body shaming but I am so proud of my body,” Kesha captioned the post. “She’s been through a lot. She tore her ACL on stage and finished the show. She held my broken heart together. To those who think you’re body shaming me, you actually make me feel very powerful (sic).”

Speaking directly to those who criticize their bodies, Kesha concluded: “So, for you, I hope one day you feel whole enough to not tear other women down. Until then, hate me even more, bitch (muscle emoji).”

The 37-year-old singer had to postpone several performances in early 2018 after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her knee in a fall during a performance in Dubai. She had to postpone the performances to recover from the surgery.

Kesha’s provocative message comes just days after she released Joyride, her first single as an independent artist, on July 4, to coincide with American Independence Day.

She parted ways with Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe Records in December 2023, months after settling her nine-year legal battle with the record producer in June of that year.

“MY FIRST SONG AS A FREE WOMAN ON MY LABEL…IM SOBING THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT I CAN’T EVEN (sic),” she wrote on X last week.
