Jude Bellingham’s Elegant Message to Trent Alexander-Arnold Says It All About Friendship

Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham sent a classy message to Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold after the win over Switzerland at Euro 2024. The Reds defender scored the winning penalty in the quarter-final shootout to send the Three Lions into the semi-finals.

Gareth Southgate’s side looked doomed to elimination in Germany after a disappointing performance in Dusseldorf, with Breel Embolo opening the scoring for Switzerland with just 15 minutes remaining. But Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka produced a moment of brilliance shortly after going behind, curling his shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.

The score remained 1-1 throughout extra time and the match was to be decided on penalties. Jordan Pickford saved Manuel Akanji’s first shot to send the shootout into the final before all five England stars scored from the penalty spot to book their place in the semi-final against the Netherlands on Wednesday.

It was Alexander-Arnold’s goal that sealed the victory for England. The Liverpool star shared his joy of the moment on his personal Instagram account after the match. After posting a picture of himself taking the penalty, he captioned the text: “Pressure makes diamonds.”

Bellingham has since commented on the post, which tells you everything you need to know about the England star and his relationship with Alexander-Arnold, replying: “Your moment!”

The pair have regularly been pictured together in the England camp and celebrated Bellingham’s first goal of the tournament against Serbia with a unique celebration in Gelsenkirchen. Bellingham has also come to his friend’s defence in recent weeks, after Alexander-Arnold was criticised for his performances in midfield under Southgate.
