The Social Hub unveils its next-generation room design

The future of hotel room design at Social Hub Amsterdam City has been revealed, aiming to create an intimate space for guests through warm tones, stylish furniture and bathrooms, experience-driven surprises and more. This next-generation concept is part of the hybrid hospitality leader’s strategy to enhance its offering while continuing to grow its presence in Europe. A number of ‘premium rooms’ are currently being tested and are available for booking at Social Hub Amsterdam City for stays starting 20 Julyth. Subsequently, over the next few years, the design will be gradually adapted and rolled out across the portfolio, taking into account the diversity of the brand’s community. Once complete, travelers, students, professionals, digital nomads and more will be able to choose from elevated room options tailored to their specific needs.

Marion Koopman, Chief Operating Officer and Commercial Director of Social Hub, commented: “After extensive research to understand exactly what our different customer profiles are really looking for, we have opted for a new room concept that represents the evolution of our brand design experience. Our approach aims to transport guests from the community-centric “we” spaces to a “me” zone that offers a more sophisticated and values-driven experience. With this rollout, we will also align our hubs with a higher-tier competitive set that we aim to evolve into..”

Seamlessly combining comfort, functionality and style, the new Premium Room concept currently in pilot phase has been designed to be a calming and functional private space within the Social Hub Amsterdam City. A place where guests can take a break from their social life with our vibrant community and refresh, recharge and dream. Features of the Premium Room include:

  • Full of hybrid utility space for two guests to relax, work and play.
  • Additional comfort king-size bed and a choice of high-quality pillows, soft chairs and tables for working, studying or relaxing.
  • A spacious bathroom with rain shower and double sink, including Zenology clean cosmetics and bamboo toilet paper made by The good roll.
  • Smart solutions designed to relax comfortably through the use of warm color tones, fabrics, Wooden floor, dimmable lighting and more.

The new room concept is the result of a process lasting over a year to perfect the offering, drawing on design research and insights gained through internal and external surveys, focus groups with staff and guests, expert design advice and more. The design is led by the Italian firm Rizoma Architecture alongside a curated selection of partners sharing common values ​​focused on objectives such as the Netherlands DUM (chairs) & By Borre (fabrics) and Denmark Qudrat (fabrics).
