Starfield Project Cancelled Just One Week After Announcement, Devastating Fans

Last week we discussed a huge Star field project that was underway to make the game universe bigger than ever.

Well, this news didn’t even last a week, as it was already canceled and left fans without a slew of new things to do.

Star field will receive an official expansion later this year with the Broken space Downloadable content.

I have already written about this project which was supposed to bring together several Bethesda games under the same name Star field banner.

A team of moderators had announced on Reddit that they wanted to bring Skyrim, OversightAnd Morrowind In Star field to create a huge Bethesdaverse.

However, after writing this it seemed like it was all a big hoax or at least a satire on how modders attempt large projects that end up getting cancelled.

New-Star-340, the modder in question, was being harassed on Reddit because the project seemed too good to be true. After all, it was supposed to bring not only the worlds of these three games Star fieldbut also all quests, NPCs and items.

Speaking to VG247, New-Star-340 said: “After sharing the initial concept with the community, it became clear that the support we were hoping for simply wasn’t there. Many fans expressed their concerns and indicated that they weren’t interested in seeing this project come to fruition.”

The project was cancelled and it’s unlikely we’ll hear about it again. So was it a legitimate idea?

Well, probably. But that doesn’t mean it was possible, and it could have been a decoy at first, or just a joke.

The modder continues: “As a team, we were a small group of passionate modders who were excited about the possibilities. However, the feedback we received made us realize that the enthusiasm we felt was not shared by the wider community.”

This doesn’t take into account the number of fans who believed this was a satire product, given that the original Reddit post asked for volunteers and didn’t even give contact information.

Either way, it will never exist. It’s a concept this team will definitely not work on, and its scope was perhaps a bit too big anyway.
