Biden staff gave president notes on how to enter and exit rooms: report

President Joe Biden According to an event model obtained by Axios.com.

Several Democrats who have attended and helped organize Biden’s events have expressed concerns about his team’s attention to detail since the president’s disastrous performance in the first debate last month. The White House reportedly sent event staffers a document ahead of a fundraiser that included a large photo of the event space on each page along with large text that read “View from the podium” and “View from the audience,” as well as two pages that read “Walk to the podium.”

“I was surprised that a seasoned political professional like the president would need detailed verbal and visual instructions on how to enter and exit a room,” said one staffer who participated in a fundraiser. Axios.com.

“I had a simple fundraiser at a private residence, but they treated it like it was a NATO summit with their travel,” the employee also said.

A White House spokesperson downplayed the significance of the documents, saying that “high levels of detail and accuracy are essential to presidential prep work – no matter who the president is – and are core approaches used by any modern prep team, including the vice president’s office and agencies.”

The documents were shared amid uncertainty over the president’s reelection campaign, with a senior campaign official reportedly telling at least one megadonor privately that Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 election was “only a matter of time,” according to TMZas well as numerous Democratic officials publicly calling on him to step down. The official reportedly said the focus had shifted from singular support for the president’s re-election to “Democrats need to keep the White House” after Biden’s disastrous performance in the first presidential debate against the former president Donald Trumpthe presumptive Republican nominee.

Biden, 81, the oldest president in history, appeared opposite Trump on the debate stage for the first time since the 2020 election and did little to allay concerns about his vigor and energy. The president appeared to struggle to speak, clearing his throat and coughing repeatedly, and was often seen with his mouth agape and staring as Trump spoke, sometimes struggling to finish sentences.

Biden’s performance caused ‘panic’ among Democrats, longtime Democratic operative says CNN high-ranking political commentator David Axelrod.

“He seemed a little disoriented. He got louder as the debate went on. But by that point, I think panic had set in,” Axelrod said, adding that “there will be discussions about whether he should continue.”
