West Virginia will open the season against the Tigers. Towson finished 20-11 last season and 11-7 in the Coastal Athletic Conference. The Tigers finished last season ranked in the top 175 in the NET rankings. This meeting will be the sixth all-time, with the Mountaineers going a perfect 5-0 in the series.

The Mountaineers will next host Pitt in the “Backyard Brawl,” marking the second consecutive season the two teams have faced off. WVU holds a 29-19 advantage in the series, including a 14-7 score at WVU Coliseum, and is the winner of six straight wins.

West Virginia and Texas A&M are meeting for just the third time. This will be the Aggies’ first-ever appearance in Morgantown. The two teams last met in 2017, when the Mountaineers beat No. 18 Texas A&M in a 70-56 road victory.
