Roanoke Man Arrested With Loaded Handgun In Carry-On Bag At ROA

TSA agents discovered a .380-caliber handgun loaded with six bullets in his carry-on bag during an X-ray screening. That not only prevented the man from boarding the plane, but also put him at risk of a “hefty civil penalty” that could cost him $15,000 and cause him to lose TSA pre-check privileges. Wednesday’s gun seizure was the fourth of 2024, which may raise concerns given that last year, TSA agents at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport intercepted five firearms at security checkpoints. The TSA says firearms are only allowed in checked baggage.
