Rome BoE considers installing speed cameras in West End

The Rome City School Board will consider installing speed cameras in the area of ​​West End Elementary School at its meeting Tuesday night.

It would be the city’s third school zone with cameras.

The others are in the Rome High/Rome Middle School area on Veterans Memorial Highway and on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Main Elementary.

The county has speed cameras on Highway 27 North in the Armuchee Elementary School area.

The school board meeting will be held at Rome City Schools College and Career Academy on Veterans Memorial Highway.

Caucus begins at 4 p.m. and the regular meeting will follow at 5:45 p.m.
