Police Diary: Unwanted People Caught Sleeping, Urinating In Public And More

May 23

Unwanted person

At approximately 9:05 a.m., a Bridge Street merchant reported an unwanted person sleeping on the porch. Sergeant Memolo was the investigator.

May 25

Unwanted person

At approximately 11:22 p.m., patrol responded to Bridge Street to observe a person sleeping in a residential/commercial vestibule. The individual had left prior to patrol arrival. Patrolman Zilliox is the investigator.

May 26

Disorderly conduct

At 6:31 p.m., patrols responded to the Wing Dam for several individuals engaging in disorderly activity and consuming alcoholic beverages. Several individuals were ticketed for violating the local ordinance for consuming alcoholic beverages in a public place and were released at the scene. Patrolman Brown investigated.

May 27

Flight

At approximately 1:55 p.m., a patrol responded to Ely Field for a report of a stolen bicycle. Shortly after arriving, the patrol quickly located the bicycle after searching the area. Detective Albani and Patrolman Brown investigated.

May 28

Unwanted person

At approximately 9:08 a.m., a Bridge Street business owner reported an unwanted person sleeping on the porch. Sergeant Memolo was the investigator.

Flight

At approximately 11:36 a.m., a patrol responded to a residence on North Union Street for a report of Christmas lights stolen from the front porch. Sergeant Memolo is the investigator.

May 29

Urinating in public

At approximately 12:10 p.m., a business owner on North Main Street received a report that an intoxicated individual had consumed an alcoholic beverage inside the business and had fallen asleep. The suspect, a 41-year-old man from the Town of Lambertville, was located on a nearby street where he was advised not to return to the business. He was also charged with public urination and released at the scene. Patrolman Bereheiko was the investigating officer.

June 2

Intrusion

At approximately 10:55 p.m., a 25-year-old Lambertville man was found sleeping on the porch of a business on Bridge Street. The man was later charged with defiant trespassing after being repeatedly warned by business staff and police not to sleep on the property. Sergeant Gramlich is the investigator.

June 9

Attempted fraud

At approximately 11:06 a.m., a Titus Road resident reported a suspicious phone call in which the caller identified himself as a Hunterdon County Sheriff’s officer who demanded the resident pay a fine for failing to serve jury duty. Corporal Wurpel intervened and quickly determined that the incident was a phone scam.

June 13

Driving under the influence of alcohol

At approximately 2:17 a.m., a 59-year-old Lambertville man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving. The man was released and is scheduled to appear in court on July 18. Patrolman Zilliox was the arresting officer.

Harassment

At approximately 8:44 p.m., a patrol responded to Heritage Village for a harassment complaint. Master Corporal Bast responded and quickly defused the situation without incident.

June 14

Intrusion

At approximately 2:06 a.m., patrols responded to Church Street for a report of a trespasser on private property. It was determined that a 46-year-old man from the Town of Lambertville was found asleep on a residential property where he had been given prior notice that he was not authorized to be on the property. The man was subsequently charged with defiant trespass and was scheduled for a court date. Patrolman Zilliox is the investigator.

Unwanted person

At approximately 1:16 p.m., a patrol responded to a residence on Church Street to find an unwanted person. After investigation, the person was asked to leave the premises, which they did without incident. Sergeant Gramlich investigated.

June 16

Unwanted person

At approximately 10:07 p.m., a patrol officer responded to a residence on Church Street in response to an unwanted person. A 46-year-old man from the City of Lambertville was charged with trespassing with defiance. A court date has been set for him. Patrolman Lugo is the investigator.
