The Royal Salute Whiskey Trio Inspired by the 62 Gun Salute

Royal greetings

Premium whisky brand Royal Salute is expanding its 62 Gun Salute offering with a collection featuring two new blends as part of the 62 Gun Salute Collection. Joining other Chivas Brothers whisky offerings, the Peated Reserve and American Oak Reserve are the pinnacle of the brand’s luxury whiskeys.

The Original Reserve from the 62 Gun Salute Series, named after the ceremonial tradition held at the Tower of London to honor events such as the births, accessions and coronations of the Royal Family, is a blend of 50 malt and grain Scotch whiskies with notes of plum and sherry. The Peated Reserve is also a blend of 50 whiskies but focuses more on smoky flavors with notes of tart citrus, while the American Oak Reserve is aged in American oak barrels to develop depth of flavor and enhance tropical fruit flavors.

“As the crown jewel of the Royal Salute range, the process of crafting this collection was long and meticulous until I was absolutely certain that we had blends representative of an authentic 62-gun salute ceremony,” said Sandy Hyslop, Royal Salute Master Blender. “The collection’s flavour profile is beautifully complex and rounded, connecting all the senses to create a lasting taste experience that reflects the significance of the occasion.”

The three bottles that make up the collection will be available separately, the Original Reserve priced at $3,000 and the American Oak Reserve priced at $3,300, both available worldwide. The Peated Reserve will retail for $3,300 and will initially be available exclusively in duty free.
