Augusta Levy Learning Center Announces New Parent Support Groups

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — The Augusta Levy Learning Center is preparing to launch a new program that will help not only children, but their entire families here in the Ohio Valley.

In just one week, the Augusta Levy Learning Center will launch its brand new Parent Support Group Circle in partnership with the WVU Center of Excellence for People with Disabilities.

The new program is designed for parents and families of children with special health needs or disabilities.

During the meetings, groups will discuss the challenges and successes they have encountered in raising children with mental or physical disabilities.

“It’s something that we’re really excited about, to really branch out and be able to support not only the children that we serve here at the center, but their entire family, because we recognize that the entire family is affected by an autism diagnosis and to be able to help them, it’s just, it’s an incredible thing.”

Jessica Osmianski – Director of Quality and Development, Augusta Levy Learning Center

The meetings are all open to the public with childcare available at each time. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 16th at 2:30pm, then every 3rd Tuesday of the following month at the same time.

If you would like to take advantage of childcare during meetings, you must confirm your attendance to [email protected]
