The Lac Supérieur Theatre is ready for the opening of the season

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) — Lake Superior Theatre (LST) kicks off its summer season at the Boathouse Tuesday night with “Escape to Margaritaville,” a musical featuring the music of Jimmy Buffet.

LST will present two more musicals this season and will work with Superior Shakespeare for Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Later in the season, there will be a presentation featuring Jack Deo and Jim Koski covering some of Marquette’s “Legends and Lore,” which LST production manager Petra Frazier says is part of their mission.

“History is actually our mission, that’s why we were founded in 1999,” Frazier said. “So our mission is to continue to provide history to the community, this is a fun way to do it and also to showcase local historians.”

Escape to Margaritaville will run from July 9-13 and July 16-19.

The full program and link to tickets can be found on the LST website.
