Imagine Dragons Talk New Album, ‘Loom’ Tour, Stopping in West Palm Beach on Aug. 30 – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

Imagine Dragons are releasing a brand new album, “Loom,” which is their sixth album. And coming up with new songs is never easy. Lead singer Dan Reynolds revealed how he keeps the songwriting flame alive.

Imagine Dragons: “I lift my wheels when I take off, I’m nowhere, but I’m everywhere, I’m spinning, look at me now”

Imagine Dragons roars with new sounds.

Imagine Dragons: “Big man when a wall separates us, Big man gonna break into pieces, Spin-in-in, I can’t believe it, Spin-in-in (Spin-in-in)”

Their album “Loom” was released with a mix of energetic songs.

Dan Reynolds: “It was actually done differently than our previous records.”

Imagine Dragons: “First of all, I’m going to say all the words that are on my mind, I’m excited and tired of how things have been going.”

The rock band has evolved since it burst onto the music scene in 2008. And having options is essential.

Dan Reynolds: “I usually write over 100 demos before I go into the studio, and then we go through them and work with the producer to decide on the songs, and then we kind of clean them up.”

Imagine Dragons: “Lock me in a maze (Oh), Turn off, turn off the lights (Oh, oh, oh-oh), This is what I was born, this is what I was bred for (Oh), Turn off, turn off the lights (Oh-oh, oh)”

Changing their process is good for the rock band.

Dan Reynolds: “We decided to work with Mattman & Robin, the Swedish producers that we love, who we’ve been working with for many years, and they pitched us the idea. We listened to some demos and they thought, ‘Why not start from scratch for once?’”

Imagine Dragons: “…I drive my car, I raise my hands, I put it on a hill, I could do it with my eyes closed”

The challenge was exciting for lead singer, Dan Reynolds.

Imagine Dragons: “Anyway, it’s nice to meet you, Anyway, it’s nice to meet you”

Dan Reynolds: “I was up for it because I love writing. I do it, I mean, there’s a reason there’s over 100 demos every time. It’s just because it’s a joy to me. So I was excited about it.”

Lots of demos and lots of writing, the album’s nine precious tracks are special.

Dan Reynolds: “And then we started writing from scratch for a couple months, we probably wrote about 30 songs, something like that, and then we narrowed it down to nine that made the album.”

The “Loom” world tour kicks off July 30 with a stop in West Palm Beach on August 30.
