Farrington’s Abel Hoopii Announces Verbal Commitment to SMU

The No. 9 recruit from the state of Hawaii for the class of 2025 according to 24/7 Sports, Abel Hoopii has announced his verbal commitment to SMU.

“I think it was the coaching staff. You know, we weighed the pros and cons, we did all that and yeah, I felt like I was at home there,” Hoopii said.

The Farrington offensive lineman had to choose between his final four schools on Monday.

Hoopii chose SMU over Hawaii, San Jose State and UTSA.

“I really wanted to have a vision of me staying home and stuff, but I know if I moved there to SMU I would have better opportunities and hopefully make it to the NFL,” Hoopii said.
